Centurions Draw 1-1 At Hungerford With Julian Alsop Scoring His First Goal For The Club

Ciren started the first half with our three new centre backs, Gary Thorne, Kes Metitiri and Andy Minturn all playing in a back three. Matt Williams and a triallist started up front.

Hungerford had the best of the first half and had several opportunities to score which they failed to convert. The score at half time was 0-0.

In the second half, Ciren reverted to a back four with Andy Minturn coming off and the two forwards were replaced by Julian Alsop and another triallist. These changes produced an immediate effect with Ciren dominating the rest of the match.

However, Hungerford went ahead through an unfortunate own goal. After several good chances went begging for Ciren, Alsop then headed in a good cross from the left by another one of our trialists.

All in all, it was a good first pre-season run-out for the squad against one of the stonger Hellenic Premier league teams, which provided several good performances across the team.Several of the trialists did well and will have given our Management team a lot to think about.

Next up is Highworth Town away on Tuesday evening in what should be another entertaining encounter.
