Julian Alsop Signs For Ciren
The experienced striker Julian Alsop has signed for the Club from Newport County, where he spent two successful seasons after signing for them from Forest Green Rovers. His other previous clubs include Cheltenham Town, Swansea City, Bristol Rovers, Northampton Town and Oxford United.
Adi Viveash believes that this is a statement signing for the Club and shows our ambition to have a real go at gaining promotion back to the British Gas Business Premier division at the first attempt. He said, "I played against Julian when he was at Cheltenham and Forest Green, so I know what a real handful he is for defenders. He is also a good character to have around who is very vocal in the dressing room. It will be great for Matt Taylor and Steve Robertson in particular to play alongside Julian and they will learn a lot from him.
In the meantime, defender Alex Stanley has left the club to sign for Yate Town. Adi stated that Alex wanted to continue to play at Premier divison level, which is understandable and he thanked Alex for all of his efforts last season, wishing him all the best in the future.
