The Season Ends With Another Disappointing Defeat

Cirencester Town 1 - 4 Gloucester City

The Tigers, who will be groundsharing with us next season, won this end of season local derby, racing into a 2-0 lead early on in the match. Jack Pitcher, who unfortunately had to go off with a nasty ankle injury when he turned, unchallenged, on the ball on 18 minutes, scored the first on 2 minutes. Will Morford scored the first of his two goals on 13 minutes with a simple finish.

Early in the second half, Ciren put in a spirited fightback with Steve Robertson scoring and they then dominated the game for a while. However, Will Morford put the game beyond doubt with his second and Gloucester's third about twenty minutes from the end.

Then, Jody Bevan, one of five former Ciren players playing for City, scored the goal of the game with a crisp shot over the outstreched arms of Matt Bulman. It was a typical Jody goal.

A full match report by Ian will be posted on the fixtures page of this website later in the week.
