THE ACADEMY IN A CONVINCING WIN AGAINST YSTRAD MYNACH
Cirencester 4 Ystrad Mynach 1
A tight first 20 minutes with neither side playing any good quality football. Cirencester started to dominate with both wide players, Marcus Fylan-Smith and in particular Jake Lloyd causing problems with darting runs and dangerous crosses in the box. Cirencester forged ahead through a defensive mistake by the Ystrad Mynach centre half, Adam Clay powering through to shoot low to the keepers left.
The second period saw Cirencester take control and added goals through Zak Westlake and Ryan Thomas. Ystrad Mynach were thrown a lifeline when a corner wasn’t properly cleared allowing the striker to poke home from close range.
Cirencester killed of the game when substitute Matt Phillips delivered an inch perfect cross, Jake Lloyd coolly slotting home from 6yds.
A convincing performance from our younger players.
